Lot Report

Provenance:

Roberts Gallery, Toronto.
Private Collection, Ontario.

Note:

The village of Hybla is located about 5 miles north-east of Bancroft in Hastings County, Ontario. Before the railroad arrived in 1907, Hybla was a farming community. From the feldspar mine high in the hills beyond the village wagons brought ore down to the
station. When the railways switched from coal to diesel, the station was no longer needed. Today, two churches and a few farms are all that remain of the pioneer community of Hybla.
