Note:
Earl Lu Ming Teh (b. 1925, Hong Kong; d. 2005, Pisa, Italy) was a medical surgeon by profession, as well as a prominent art patron and philanthropist in Singapore.
Lu is known for his paintings of roses using Chinese ink brush techniques. Inspired by his family background in Chinese art collecting, Lu began studying Chinese ink painting in 1956 under the first generation Singaporean artist Chen Wen Hsi.
Lu was also active at promoting the visual arts and art education in Singapore. As an art patron and collector himself, Lu donated much of his collection of Chinese and Southeast Asian ceramics and paintings to institutions such as the National University of Singapore Museum, LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, the Asian Civilisations Museum, and the Singapore Art Museum.
